Scaphoid Surgery #3

This time Tim"s surgery was less evasive.
Dr. French(new surgeon, new ideas) did arthroscopic surgery to inject some of Tim's stem cells into the scaphoid bone.  He took the stem cells from his left hip bone with a syringe and stuffed them into the bone.  This way there was no incision to heal up on his hip or his wrist. He also put in three pins to stabilize the bones around.  Last time the right hip had 6 staples and was  more painful than the surgery itself but this time it was only a pin hole  he doesn't even notice.
Holes where the pins are

so this is the latest cast.  Needless to say he's not happy.
this will be on till sometime in January and then he will have a shorter cast until....
who knows

First Sign of Snow

Driving home from the skytrain station today it was raining with snow mixed in.
They say we are going to have a cold winter but so far it has been a no coat fall for me.
I look forward to snow and hope that we have some snowed in days this year.
I was trying to find a picture of snow for this story but there aren't any from 2009.
That was the year of the Olympics so of course it was a very mild winter.
I did find this picture although its a bunch of years ago.

I have spent alot of time taking pictures and making items for my  Etsy store.  It has been a lot of hard work. Just when I thought I should quit this nonsense and spend more time on other things   I started to sell. Just a little mind you but it felt like my efforts were paying off abit.

Oh my goodness!! I cannot believe the excitement when I see that someone has bought some of my creations!  I just want to go back into my workshop and make more!!!

Well, maybe the excitement wears off I don't know and I hope not but in the meantime I can hardly sleep!

Some of the items that are selling are a surprise to me.  I thought they would be the last to go but...you really don't  know.  Mmmmm...

I had a birthday yesterday and honestly two weeks ago I was sure I was turning 53. I suppose its not such a big deal after 50 until you get close to 60. Not really sure. But it was a great day. What did I do all day? Well, I ate and I talked to many people that I love. Thats all. It was awesome.

A few months ago John bought me a bike for my birthday. Actually, we both bought a bike at the same time.  Mine new and his 2nd hand.   It really is nice to do the same activity as him.   His legs being way longer than mine that limits somewhat what we can do together enjoyably.  Biking together is enjoyable.
He still wanted to get me something for the actual day,
hence the note on the flowers.
