Latest Knitting

I just love the way the colours are showing up in this sock pattern

This is a version of Amy Singer's Everlasting Mesh Bag. I rescued some cotton from Value Village and decided on a mesh bag with double the yarn for sturdiness. It's a little hard on my hands so I have to take it easy.

Manning Park and Camping

We visited an Alpine Meadow at Manning Park and found some of the prettiest and most interesting flowers. Some of them looked like they could be Dr.Seuss flowers.

At night the temperature would drop quite abit because of the altitude and in the morning when the sun came up the animals would warm themselves up where the sun shone first. This squirrel was actually taking a nap in the sun.

Dave's Diner

Dave's Diner was just down the road from our camp site. It's know for its good food and friendly atmosphere. We ordered Dave's special and we got alot of food. There was way more food than we normally eat but it was fun and delicious and filling.

People wrote notes on the brick about their visit to Dave's

Isn't this cool?

Sunny, sunny, sunny!!!

We have had so much rain and cloudy days that I thought summer was going to pass us by. But, it hasn't!!!. The last few mornings have been glorious. Waking up to a blue sky and having my morning coffee out on the patio in the sun or shade if its too hot, is absolutely wonderful. I live here on the West Coast and many of us suffer from SAD. Seasonal affective disorder. I visited a nurse in California a few years ago and I was trying to tell her about SAD and she had never heard of it. Of course in California this is not a issue. When the sun shines people are happy. You can feel the difference in them when you go out. People are more courteous when they drive, happier when you bump into them at the grocery store kids become better learner.

Central Park (Hoodie) Sweater

Well after taking the Central Park Hoodie apart because it was too small so I reknit it in two sizes bigger. It fits way better except the sleeves are quite snug. I'm not sure why that happened. I want to put a zipper in it but not quite sure how to do it. I also decided not to put the hoodie on because it would be too warm. The collar worked out very well.

I made this sweater with Wool of the Andes from Knit Picks. I like the way it feels after I've had it on for a few minutes. It is abit scratchy but you get used to it quickly and then it is very comfortable.
