Birds eye view of Vancouver

Went up the Vancouver Harbor Center Sat night.
I just love seeing things with a different eye.
It gives you a new perspective.

General Motors place with its new retracting roof

Gastown in the middle of the trees
Indian Arm in the distance

Very interesting balcony halfway up a building

Elgin Hall craft fair

Had a craft fair this past weekend.  It was inside a hall and it was also a sunny day.  Not alot of traffic but a fun day none the less.
My little Zwaag bag suits her don't you think?

SWEATERS!!!

Value Village has reward cards.  You buy something for five dollars and they give you a stamp.  Once you have a card full of stamps everything you buy the next time is 30% off.  So I bought a bunch of sweaters and the total after the 30% off was enough to fill another card.  So I've done this several times.  With the 30% off the sweaters are about the same price as if you bought them at Salvation Army or Hospital Auxiliary.  Value Village has gotten very expensive for a thrift store...not happy about that.  So I wait for those special deals which come every once in awhile and I buy lots of sweaters!  Yummy!

Vancouver Farmers Market

I registered for the Vancouver Farmers Market and got invited to attend their 2012 craft jury.
This is where they judge your creations using a point system and depending on the final amount of points you are invited to apply for four markets during the season spring, summer and fall.  After participating in at least three markets you are eligible to attend  the very popular large market in the Christmas season. So... there are markets every sat, sun and wed from May until  Oct totaling 86 markets!!  Wow, that's alot of vendors.  By the end of the week I should know if I have been approved! :)

A new idea on how to display my brooches.  Its a spray painted candle holder !!
A last minute idea that I think will work.  Its like the cupcake holders, only it holds brooches!
While we were waiting we drove through North Vancouver on Grouse Mountain exploring new neighborhoods. New to us anyway. We stopped for coffee and a cinnamon bun in Dundarave, found a garage sale on Rondovole Drive, had lunch at the  Save on Meats on Hastings and bumped into a Chinese New Year celebration. We also visited a Value Village before heading back to pick up my display in Britannia High School. All in all, it was a wonderful day just hanging out with my hubby.

The Passionate Home

So I thought I was going to have nothing to do this January
but reorganize my stash when I got a call from a local store called
The Passionate Home.
Carrie asked if I would make more flowers and
large Zwaag bags for a new line they were creating in their store.
Exciting!!

Torn Lateral Meniscus

A year ago I thought I was still a fit 30 year old and climbed Windy Joe resulting in a torn lateral meniscus!
It took a whole year to diagnose, MRI it and receive a surgery date.  mmm...
This Thursday is the big day.
So...Once again, I will be under the knife.
Any words of encouragment?
Anyone had this procedure done?
Just in time for my Brothers wedding! :(

Scam?

One of the last few crafts sale that I was going to participate in was cancelled at the last minute due to personal reasons. We would be reimburst before the end of December.
These craft sales were going to be held in excellent locations, one is Cresant beach and the other in Fort Langley. I was excited because this most likely meant that I would end the crafting season with a bang!
Getting the email saying it was cancelled just totally confused me. How can you do that when there are so many people involved? At least get someone else to take over for goodness sake!
I've tried to contact this person and there is no response.
Oh, I forgot to mention that no one has received money as of today Jan 5th.

Christmas in a Barn

We had a family Christmas celebration in a barn. I had my doubts before we got there but once we arrived we were happily surprised. I forgot my camera so these were taken with a cell phone. Not very clear but it shows the coziness of the occasion very nicely!

Year one: Knitting Chair Markets

So this is the end of the first year of markets for the Knitting Chair.
I must say that this year was a total surprise.
I never thought that at the end of 2011 I would be looking at a successful year of making and selling.
It always surprises me when someone wants to pay money for something that I made.
It makes me feel so happy when people continually love my creations.

The best part:  Dreaming up ideas, making patterns and then creating.  Next step selling and putting myself out there.
You have no idea how happy this makes me.
There has been no job in my life that has made me feel so excited and fulfilled.
I  look forward to the excitement of making things, of meeting lots of different kinds of people, of listening to the ideas of my customers and working along side  my fellow vendors.
Here's to another year of creating!!
Some creations that I am most proud of:
